KPMG have been working with clients since 2002 to identify, size and evaluate the impact of the gray market on their businesses. From these results as well as assessments of many types of channel partners we have developed a holistic view of processes and controls which help reduce the prevalence of the gray market, whilst encouraging transparency/trust in the market resulting in a level playing field. However, gray market continues to plague many companies in different industries and KPMG will be sharing the insights learned from our 2016 study including the potential impact from counterfeit products on the overall dynamics and leading practices on tackling this significant challenge.
